From problem to solution. Disposal of waste from tank cleaning. Oil sludge.

Problems of oil sludge processing

Currently, in Russia, with an annual increase in the volume of oil waste generation, there is no comprehensive approach to the formation of an industry for the treatment, disposal and neutralization of industrial waste. There is a trend towards the development of small and medium-sized businesses exclusively in the field of collecting and disposing of only particularly in-demand types of secondary raw materials and businesses in the field of waste disposal at unauthorized facilities.

  • Diverse and complex morphological composition. Some fractions are almost impossible to burn or recycle easily.
  • A large list of waste has a liquid aggregate state.
  • The vast majority of construction waste is bulky.
  • Difficult choice of oil sludge processing technology.

Engineering tasks

Eco-Spectrum has conducted several studies based on industrial and test tests of the most "problematic" waste from the oil and gas processing industry (NGPO).

The object of the study was oil-contaminated soils of hazard class III.

According to the test results, parameters that are fundamentally important for substantiating the effectiveness of the thermal disposal method are equipment performance, ash content of the mineral residue and its hazard class, and the effectiveness of the GO system.

  • After measuring the value of the hydrogen index before and after irrigation in the gas treatment system, it was found that the pH of the source water was 6.85, after irrigation of flue gases in the wet gas treatment system, the pH was 3.04, from which it was concluded that an alkaline reagent should be used in the water treatment system to the required pH level.
  • The company's experts have developed recommendations on the selection of reagents for the water treatment system.
  • Additionally, studies have been conducted on the environmental and economic efficiency of thermal disposal of such waste.

Product results

The Eco-Spectrum team has developed technologies for the thermal disposal of "problematic" groups of oil-containing waste, taking into account their component composition and hazard class, as well as the volume of exhaust flue gases into their afterburning chamber.

  • Practical tests have been carried out and effective, and most importantly, universal methods of cleaning flue gases up to technological concentrations of pollutants specified in ITS BAT/Rosprirodnadzor order have been selected.
  • An innovative approach to the selection of GO and reagents has been developed, capable of ensuring the quality of emissions within the limits of technological indicators.
  • Several options have been developed for the preparation and supply of waste, including liquid waste.

High profitability of oil sludge disposal

Our task is to develop and manufacture equipment to reduce the hazard class, reducing the volume to 3-5% of the total weight. At the same time, we conduct many tests and studies for compliance with MPC/MPC during incineration, and we also continue to collect data on the cost of disposal of oily waste. For example, the disposal of one ton of soil contaminated with petroleum products (15-30%) can range from 300 to 1300 rubles, that is, about 3 to 13 kopecks per kilogram. Such a low cost of disposal is possible only on Eco-Spectrum production equipment due to our unique lining technology (proprietary development, patented technology), where fuel consumption is practically reduced to zero.
